7th and 8th Grade Football Information (Fall 2024)

Hello parents/guardians!  On behalf of the Hastings Little Raiders Football Program and the Middle School Athletic Department, we are reaching out with some exciting changes that will be coming this fall for 7th and 8th grade football players.  

Hastings Middle School will no longer be offering football as a fall sport next school year.  The reason for this is that many other communities around us have transitioned from football being offered at their middle schools to football being offered as a club sport.  Due to that change, our middle school teams were left with very few teams to schedule games against.  Many of our middle school teams last year only played 3-4 games throughout the entire season.  

With football leaving middle school, the Hastings Little Raiders Program will be stepping in to offer football to our 7th and 8th graders this fall.  Our 7th and 8th grade teams will join the Metro East Youth Football League, where they will play a full schedule of 9 games throughout the fall season against surrounding communities.  

The Little Raiders 5th and 6th grade football program will remain unchanged and will operate as it always has.  

With the switch to club football being a new experience for our 7th and 8th grade players, we know there are many questions regarding what the season will look like.  As a program, we are still working through those details.
